Buick tasked Hylink to promote their newly launched electric vehicle VELITE 5, by making a splash in the Chinese clean car market – one that is yet to mature and filled with skeptical consumers

The goal was to effectively communicate the new brand messaging of creating a better life” to build organic synergy with digitally-inclined Chinese.

Strategy

Instead of typical auto marketing formats such as TV commercials, KV portals or auto verticals, a more dynamic and engaging way was adopted, by creating a smart tech home called VELITE 5 Life Zone, on the bank of Shanghai’s Huangpu River.

The home was completely environmental friendly, containing the same innovative features of the new VELITE 5 car model, and intelligent features that represent progressive lifestyles.

In collaboration with Airbnb, the home was available for travelers to book a stay.

We also partnered with KOLs ( or influencers) to develop engaging content

WeChat feed ads were used to generated additional awareness.
